Love him or hate him, McG's 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea remake looks like it's going ahead. The development gears are churning. It's Disney, so if they want this movie made, it will get made one way or another. According to First Showing, Disney has brought in Braveheart scribe, Randall Wallace to give the script a polish. Most likely a "family friendly" polish.
"McG's next (much needed) blockbuster?"
This will be an interesting development. IMDB trolls and rabid fanboys have developed an almost feverish hatred for Mr McGinty. Why? I'm not exactly sure. I mean, Charlies Angels is what it is: an action movie, mainly geared towards chicks, who can drag their boyfriends and husbands along, or vice-versa. It's certainly not Oscar bait, but with Terminator Salvation, McG did prove he has the minerals to shoot a decent action flick. The problem with Salvation is that it relied too much on action - which in turn, made the film come off as being shallow. Anyway, that's another argument for another day.
