Why Left 4 Dead 2 may end up being the Best Zombie Shooter ever!

I'm not sure about you, but when I'm not writing or working my minotinous day job, I love nothing more than grabbing a 12-gauge and blowing the brains out of a few hundred Zombies. Left 4 Dead allows me that pleasure. Pitted against countless hordes of flesh-eating stinkers, you must band together online with three other members and fight for survival. The idea is that you work as a team, and teamwork is the only way you can survive. The overall objective of the game is to make it to the end of each map, where with a little luck, you'll survive long enough to be rescued. It's a great game which offers up some awesome action and some truly terrifying moments. There's nothing more horrific (and funny) than watching a team mate stray too far, and just get overwhelmed by dozens of rabid Zombies.

While it's certainly an enjoyable online experience for horror freaks and gamers, there are some problems, mainly the ability for team members to vote-kick you off a server. You'll often find that upon joining a server, you'll be kicked off for no apparant reason. Or if you disagree with another team mate, they'll kick you off. It's a power thing. Plus, server mods who suffer from a God-complex can kick you if they don't think you're a good enough player. However, the good outweighs the bad, and it is a game worth looking at, especially if you're into Zombie movies, in which the developers borrorwed certain nuances and scenes from all the classics.

The sequel to the game, Left 4 Dead 2, which takes place in New Orleans after a Zombie outbreak, is about to drop soon, so I thought I'd show you one of my favorite scenes from the game. The "Axe Ownage" video. Enjoy.
